Headshot Tips on Wardrobe

One item we always ask you to bring is your favorite outfit. That one go-to item that you don’t leave town without -your joie de vie piece of clothing that makes you feel like a star. Doesn’t matter what color or style it is, we want to do shots where you feel like your best self. Aside from that, we prefer medium to dark solid colors that have a flattering neckline. Not to say that certain bold patterns won’t work–they can, but we encourage you to bring 5 to 10 items, so we have lots to choose from.

About Headshot Makeup

A good foundation is of the utmost importance with regard to makeup. One that covers thoroughly without looking glommed on, yet still seamlessly covers any flaws. The brand we prefer is Laura Mercier, which is available at Macy’s, Nordstrom, Sephora and other fine departments stores. If you don’t feel that you can achieve this with your current makeup, please let us know. Randy is quite proficient at doing makeup and can do yours for less than our regular artists if you are on a budget.

About Acting or Modeling Experience

Everyone has to start somewhere. We excel at taking someone new to the business and making them look as if they’ve been working for years. From infants to seniors, Randy has worked with every age group, both male and female. If you are new, he will work you through a series of exercises designed to get you let go of your inhibitions and bring out your star. If you are a veteran, you’ll just have a good time being guided through your different looks while also being challenged to create new ones.

About the Headshot Shoot

Your headshot shoot will take about 30 to 40 minutes per look. We shoot roughly 100 to 200 frames per look (before editing) depending on your experience. Please feel free to bring a friend or family member with you if you would feel more comfortable.

About our Greenscreen Stock Project

We are often looking for great faces for a project called greenscreen stock images, where we photograph talent in various characterizations in front of a greenscreen. We’ll offer significant discounts in exchange for a model release so we can sell your image for stock (what is stock?). Aren’t necessarily looking for the best looking people, but quite often real people who can pull off a real life character with ease of effort. Include your request by clicking the Contact Us link above.
